What is TEDxTrondheim?
TEDxTrondheim is part of the global network of volunteers who are passionate about sharing ideas that are worth spreading.
We are an English speaking organisation that gives space to the huge international community in the city space to make a positive difference to their new community, in a way that enables creative potential and which is comfortable. We host our events at local venues, bringing them to the fore of the community. We market and promote Trondheim to a global audience and work to establish and maintain connections between our proudly local companies with the world. Over the last 12 years, we have run 45 events, hosted over 6000 attendees, and have racked up over 2 million views of our videos on YouTube.
TEDxTrondheim strongly believes that as the Silicon Valley of Scandinavia, Trondheim deserves the global platform that our events provide.
What is TED?
TED is a non-profit organisation whose aim is to spread awesome ideas. TED holds a biannual conference where global thought leaders present mind-blowing talks, free from corporate, political and religious agendas.
TED then upload these talks to their YouTube channel, and volunteers from around the global translate them, which means that anyone can beinspired by the likes of Thomas Suarez, 12 year old video game developer, Iranian comedian Max Jobrahni, or Brené Brown, a global leader on the human connection. Since the program launched in 2009, over 10 000 events have been hosted worldwide, with nearly 50 000 speakers sharing ideas with the global community. Events are multicultural and multidisciplinary, and speakers are vetted to ensure that ideas are supported by good research.
What is TEDx?
In the spirit of “ideas worth spreading,” TED has launched a program that enables individuals and organizations to create and host their own local TED-like events. These events will be branded TEDx, the x standing for Independently Organized TED Events.
By securing a free TEDx license, you’ll get access to our 25 years of experience hosting conferences and sharing ideas. Using a mix of 400+ TED videos and your own live speakers and performers, your event can introduce your friends, school, community or workplace to a world of new ideas — and foster rich and inspiring connections and conversations.
